Craig DouthwaiteI enjoy working with all age groups to produce a workout that is challenging and helps improve strength, flexibility and everyday body movements. My areas of specialty are resistance training, sport conditioning, specialized team training and spin class instruction. I have been instructing fitness, wellness and sport conditioning for six years in the Red Deer area. I am continually exploring ongoing training techniques and education opportunities to improve my client's health, fitness and overall wellness. I started BASICS Fitness in 2008 when I recognized a need in the community for fitness training outside the four walls of a traditional gym. Whether you are training at home or in the great outdoors we can show you how to have fantastic results when you take your fitness back to BASICS.

Favorite Exercises
My two favorites are wall ball shots and muscle-ups. Wall balls give you a full body work out; shoulders, chest, core and legs, and when done correctly one of the best midline stability exercises around. Muscle-ups are bar none one of the best upper body conditioning exercises.
Biggest gym pet peeve
Overcrowded gyms where I can't move quickly from equipment to equipment.
Hobbies
My free time is spent with my amazing wife and our two awesome boys doing a number of outdoor activities; mountain biking, soccer, hiking, camping and relaxing at the beach. I'm hoping to get out and do some big scrambles this year with the Central Alberta Mountain Club.
Noel LawrenceI enjoy working with a wide variety of fitness levels and ages to design functionally based resistance programs. I have been resistance training for 19 years as a result of my involvement in a variety of sports (martial arts, alpine ski racing, and motocross). As a Professional Motocross racer and competitive martial artist I know how demanding sports can be on an athlete's body. Each sport put different demands on my body but they all shared the same base for my success, functionally based resistance conditioning.

Favorite Exercises
Get me in the gym and its squats. Outside the walls of the gym I'm a gymnastics/body weight junkie and like to work muscle-ups, hanging leg raises and handstand push ups.
Biggest gym pet peeve
Two things bug me, busy or crowded periods affecting workout structure and the monotony of simple movement or non-functional training.
Hobbies
Mountain biking, rollerblading, martial arts, running, downhill and cross country skiing.
